Thomas when he noted that reality is what we perceive ti to be. This was brought home when I heard a woman describe her childhood. They were so poor that there were no presents for Christmas. So her father took her outside and said he would give her a star as a present. She picked the brightest star she saw, which happened to be the planet Venus. Her Dad said "you know this is not really a star." She said "that's OK, I'll take it anyway." Throughout her life whenever she saw Venus in the sky she would remember "my Daddy gave me that." Years later she told her sister about her Dad giving her Venus. Her sister replied, "that's just like that son of a bitch to give you something that's not for him to give."
